Complicated by Kristen Ashley

I liked Hix the man wasn't afraid to let his woman use his things, with conditions of course, "he chuckled. “No, it’s I own this beast so I drive it if I’m in it so she knows she always has my love, but I’m totally cool you wanna take her for a spin if I’m not around.” Hix sometimes only hears certain parts of a conversation, "Hix wasn’t feeling amused anymore. “Let’s go back to my Boxing Day surprise,” he suggested in a growl. He had no clue what Boxing Day even was." I loved this book, I fell in love with Hix and his alpha, bossy ways.

Unbreakable by Violetta Rand

Alex sometimes has to put his foot down, “nay. Ye will sleep with me every night.” He covered her hand with his. “Ye willna want to be apart from me once we spend our first night together, lass. I am a generous lover. I’ll never hurt ye or force ye to do anything ye are uncomfortable with.” A lex has a way of shocking people, “we dinna use the bed, Mathe. Not the first time.” The councilman’s mouth opened, but nothing came out. “Are ye going to call me a heathen again?” I really enjoyed this book, I loved Alex.

The Hookup by Kristen Ashley

Johnny likes to give his girl options, “wanna eff before or after I feed you?” he inquired." I loved Johnny's aunt, the woman was a hoot, “Johnathon, please. No sexual innuendo at a lady’s dining room table,” Margot scolded. “It’s crass.” I adored this book, Johnny and Izzy didn't disappoint. Not gonna lie this blurb had me super nervous, I really had to contemplate giving this book a go, but then I read a few reviews and I took a chance, and I was so pleased. I can't wait for more to come from this series.

Surprise Daddy by Nicole Snow

Marshal is just a ball of joy, "he breaks the kiss, more reluctant thunder hanging on his lips. “Happy effing New Year. Had to make it count. Now I think we'd better both turn in.” I really liked this book, I loved Marshal the man was like a grizzly bear all growly on the outside and then all smooshy where his daughter and woman were concerned.

Breathe by Kimberley Ash

Oh God I think I loved Ellen's BFF Penny the most out of this book, girl had some huge lady balls, “I just wanted to meet you, and to tell you that I have quite a few jars at home, glass ones, all different sizes, and that if you do anything to hurt her, or even upset her just a little bit, I will remove your testicles myself with some kind of blunt instrument, I haven’t decided which yet, maybe a butter knife, and then I will put them in the appropriately sized jar, and hand them back to you. ’Kay?” For the second time that night he was left speechless." Kane is a persistent one, “I’ll call you.” He started to get out but got back in again. “When I say, I’ll call you, you know that I’ll probably be bothering you in about . . . ” He ostentatiously looked at his watch. “Eight hours. So sleep well..." I liked this book, I loved Kane and Ellen.

Kiss Me, Sweetheart by Codi Gary

Dustin is a very territorial man, "when a guy nearby started to ask her to dance, Dustin snarled at him, “Back off, we’re talking.” Dustin likes to grab the bull by the horns, “I propose that Monday morning I walk into your office and I ask you out. And when I do, you’re going to say yes.” Dustin can be a little self conscious, but the man won't admit it, “can you not giggle that close to my ***k?” I liked this book, I loved Dustin.

Disarmed by Love by Gail Chianese

Fiona is always keeping Dante on his toes,  “mm-hmm. We’ll need to run to the lumber store to get supplies. But first, you might want to get dressed… right after…” She laughed and pulled the towel wrapped around his waist off." I loved this book, I liked Dante the man was family orientated and treated his girl like a queen.

Bad Business by Nicole Edwards

Jason Stone is a big ole' flirt, “oh, my body is my temple, so feel free to worship as you see fit,” he says, grinning." Stone could be a very honest man, “trust me, I wanted it. I’ve wanted it since the first night when I woke up to find you gone. ***, I’m ready to go again in case you haven’t noticed.” I really enjoyed this book, I loved Savannah and Stone as a couple.

His life is chaos and confusion. It’s a storm of uncertainty and raging emotion.

Sutton Warner is a mess. Everything in his life feels like it’s unraveling.

He’s let a lot of people down lately, including his daughter. Sutton always promised his little girl he would never disappoint her and that he would always be there when she needed him. Until he wasn’t.

The truth is, he’s used to disappointing the women in his life. First was his mother who couldn’t find a reason to stick around when he was growing up. Then there’s his ex. The woman who takes unbridled delight in making his life incredibly complicated. Luckily, his daughter is still young enough to believe her old man is some kind of hero. But, he knows the day is coming when she realizes the truth, that he’s just a man with some serious flaws and a list of ever-growing weaknesses.

Finally, there’s the woman he’s desperately trying to forget with every shot tossed back and each pill popped.

He more than disappointed Emrys…he almost got her killed.

Her love is steady and sure. It’s a shelter shaped by conviction and silent assurance.

Emrys Santos is lost. Everything in her life feels pointless and futile.

She’s been busy running away from her feelings and all the people who love her the most—including her best friend, the one person who knows exactly what she’s been through. They promised to always stick together and to lean on one another. It was a promise Em had to break so she could lick her wounds and figure out her next move. For once, there is no easy way out of the tangled web of emotions she’s caught up in, and right now, she recognizes that all roads lead back to Wyoming…and back to Sutton.

The man she nearly got killed.

Shelter is a standalone novel, the second book in the Getaway series, which features the hardheaded and brokenhearted Warner brothers and the women who dare to love them. These boys are very good at putting the wild in wilderness.

REVIEW:
Sutton is a complicated man, with some deep stuff going on but he can be so sweet, “you tell me what you need and I’ll do my best to give it to you, Em. That’s about all I can promise.” I brushed my lips across hers and felt them tremble. “I’m gonna go check on Daye and then put you to bed.” Sutton is always willing to go that extra mile with his girl, "...his weight pressed my back into the mattress and his eyes blazed into mine as he growled, “You got one more to give me, Em?” I loved this book, I love the Warner brothers, they're sexy, treat women well, and have a great family dynamic.

EXCERPT:  I’d been fooled once by the promise of quiet nights and serene days in the sunshine. I believed the brochure when it said I could leave my worries at home and escape to a simpler, quieter kind of life. I let myself be lured in by the picturesque landscape and stunning mountains. I foolishly fell prey to the temptation of leaving my current set of troubles behind in San Francisco while I hid away in the middle-of-nowhere Wyoming. I now knew firsthand the glossy brochure that brought me to Wyoming the first time was nothing more than a bunch of pretty, packaged lies. I knew the bar brawl erupting in front of me was hardly the worst thing that could happen here. In fact, the level of bloodshed and violence was child’s play compared to what I’d witnessed the last time I’d stepped foot in this small, quaint town. Well, I hadn’t really been in Sheridan last time I was here. I’d spent most of my time in the backwoods that surrounded the Warner brothers’ ranch, which was still a good forty-five minutes outside of this tiny town. The ranch was where I was currently trying to get to so I could see my best friend. When I left Wyoming, I told myself I would never come back. Ever. I told myself there was nothing here for me but bad memories and heartache. I was a pro at lying to myself, at telling myself exactly what I needed to hear to justify my actions. I could convince myself of anything, like it was okay that my last boyfriend stole my grandmother’s silver when I kicked him out because he needed it more than I did. I had no problem believing that pulling Leo out of the city was the only way to heal her broken heart even though she didn’t want to go. It was easier to distract her than it was to watch her wallow. I persuaded myself into believing what I needed to heal was space and solitude. I held onto that until time passed and I was still a mess. I was sick of my own company and of hiding from everything I was feeling. I was the one who always went out of my way to fix everyone else around me, it wasn’t exactly a shock to learn I didn’t have the skills to repair myself. I spent my days helping others focus on their goals, on doing better and achieving more, so I didn’t have to think about the lack of any ambition of my own. I turned thirty at the end of the year and I was still trying to figure out what and who I wanted to be when I grew up. I’d been aimless for a long time; the only direction in my life come from the fact I knew all the way down to my bones that I had to go back to Wyoming and face off with Sutton Warner.

Outlaw Ride by Sarah Hawthorne

Clint's thoughts are very impure, “I’m in the room next to yours, if you need anything—for Nana,” I clarified. ****. If she needed anything? Like what? A good solid eff." I liked this book, I loved Clint and Jo.

Dangerous Mating by Milly Taiden

Bryon is either a very cocky man, or he's very confident, “you forget, I’m an ALFA, baby. No way I’ll ever give up on this, on you, on us.” Bryon sometimes wonders about his woman, "his brows rose high. “You’re gonna blame me for you suddenly going crazy and facing down a plane?” I liked this book, I loved Bryon his woman was saucy, fearless and smart.

Approaching the Bench by Chantal Fernando

His woman only needs to speak once and Callum moves into action, “we can do more exploring in bed,” I say, and before I know it he has me buckled in the front seat, and we’re on the road back to the farmhouse." Callum is always anticipating time with his woman, “I can’t wait to go back home and be back in my own bed.” I look to Trinny. “Or to try out your bed.” I liked this book, I loved Callum.

Bad Bachelor by Stefanie London

Reed sure loves to rile up his woman, “we missed our meeting last week, remember?” His eyes flickered over her, a slight smirk tugging on his lips as his gaze came to rest on her T-shirt. “Book boyfriends do it better, huh? Either you’ve got some really good books, or your boyfriends are setting a low bar.” I actually really enjoyed this book, Reed really needed someone like Darcy in his life to losen him up.

Don't Go by Alexa Riley

Henry can sometimes be a bad influence, “call out sick,” Henry says as he trails kisses down my spine." Henry is such a smarty pants, "babe, you’re effing naked. Yeah, I’m just going to watch you.” He's seriously a caveman, “ypu’re not walking around without underwear all day. I’ll be thinking about bending you over every surface, and then I’ll be thinking about someone getting a look at what’s mine. I’ll be horny and p***** all day.” I loved this book, I fell in love with Henry.
