Val could be so sweet, "he let out a long breath, as if her response meant everything to him. “I’m not sure I could, but I don’t want to behave like a brute.” He kissed her again, as if gathering strength from her. “I’ve never known this before. We’re going into this together, sweetheart. Shall we treat this as our new adventure?” I really enjoyed this book, I loved Val.
