I think Lash doesn't want to admit his feelings for Jessi but they're there, "Lash had battled the urge to grab Wes Brand by the front of his shirt and shake him after seeing the tears spring to Jessi’s eyes— tears caused by her brother’s thoughtless remark." Jessi sure like a to rile her man, "she shifted her hips a little, then blinked up at him. “So, are you carrying a pistol, Lash, or are you just glad to see me." Lash is so in denial but it's like Eve's garden, Jessi is so tempting and she does her damnest to tempt her man, "I’m human ,” he muttered. “Dammit to hell, I’m only human.” He slammed the phone down, flung back the covers and reached for his jeans." I enjoyed this book I liked Lash.
