Blood Assassin by Alexandra Ivy

Fane I think is confused about his feelings he doesn't want to care but yet that boy is all about going caveman when he learns his woman is in trouble, "s***. He gripped the edge of the door, the wood cracking beneath the pressure. "A mess?" he barked. "Like she'd been attacked?" It's true ladies Fane the bada** sentinel has a soft side, "lean on me, you stubborn female." He cupped the back of her hand, gently pressing her cheek to his chest. "Just for a minute. Then you can return to spitting fire." He has great argumentative skills as well,  "Serra, you are the most breathtaking woman I have ever seen," he growled, his large thigh moving upward to press against her moist core. "You could throw on a rag and outshine every woman in St. Louis." When you are not Fane's woman you get the harda** that is Fane's other half, "Fane rounded the car, his body rigid with the desire to hit someone. "Shut up before I cut off your nuts," he warned Bas as he slid into the driver's seat and slammed the door." This is the first book I've read in the series, I know I sometimes read everything backwards and this makes me want to go back and check out the other books in the series.
