The Bet by Rachel Van Dyken

Jake is um... something else entirely, "eighth grade," he repeated with a wink. "You had a crush on Stevenson Merrit. I, being the friend that I am, told him that you were the best kisser in the entire school. You guys went out for a year before you dumped him for greener pastures." Nothing like reminiscing the past with Jake huh Kacey? Jake I thought was egotistical, I really didn't like how he flaunted his wealth, "um, Kace, if you're going to include all my worldly possessions in your little hexing to make yourself feel better and all, well, maybe you should include my yacht, three summer homes, twenty-seven cars, and goldfish Sid." Travis on the other hand despite the bickering and pranks he and Kacey play on each other I fell in love with immediately, "hmm." His eyelashes fanned across his cheekbones, his very chiseled, cursed cheekbones. "If I knew you would react this way, I'd have put spiders in your bed." You can tell there is attraction between the two, I'm just not sure if either of them was really ready to admit it luckily Granny that woman I loved her dearly had plans. But Kacey has her own way of payback especially when it comes to Travis, "normally when a scantily clad woman says that, and she's this close to my bed, it means I'm about to get laid. But judging from the look on your face, I'm going to guess you're not offering." Kacey knows when to add authority to certain situations, "Travis, don't be a baby. Just take off your clothes like a man so this woman can rub you down." Over time I did tolerate Jake, not really like him well that's not true it just took forever for him to get on my good side so I guess I'm looking forward to his story.
