Eddie he was bada** in 'Rock Chick' but he's REAL bada** in 'Rock Chick Rescue.' "I'm making it my business," he told me. "Fair warning, Jet, I'm making you my business." You can't help but Eddie he always lays it on Jet, "your normal, average, everyday girl does not work in a strip club. She does not get bizarrely serenaded by her father in a bookstore. She does not transform into a new girl every time she does something to her hair or makeup. And she does not guard every scrap of personal information about her life like it's a state secret." Sometimes Jet doesn't really get the gist of things that's when Eddie REALLY lays it on her, "I already told you that you were my business but it's pretty effin' clear you didn't understand. I've been tryin' to get your attention for months but you're so busy and exhausted and whatever the hell else you are, it hasn't worked. So I'll say, straight out, so there's no confusion. I want to spend time with you, I want to get to know you and I want to sleep with you and it doesn't have to be in that order." Then there are times when he REALLY REALLY has to give it to her, "before, I was makin' you my business. Things are different once I sleep with a woman, make her come and intend to do it again. Now you are my business." Then there are times that I just really love him, "this isn't a lyin'-in-bed-naked-after-getting-a-gunshot-wound-to-the-head-kind of chat. This is a wide-awake-and-listen-to-Eddie kind of chat." Kristen has become one of my fave authors to read.
