I'm not going to lie I was a little hesitant about reading this book, and it has nothing to do with Alexia, she's a wonderful and I do mean wonderful author and love her writing, it was the content of the book. I'm not really into apocalyptic books (well that's what I thought this book was) anywho, I got to reading and what I realized was April was truly kicka**, I mean the girl carries a machete, A MACHETE people!!! First thoughts on Blaze well he was hot or at least his description said/described as much, "His broad shoulders made him impressive, tall but with well-built, smooth muscles that moved in waved under his dark brown shirt. His jeans fit him loosely but hugged his hips with a smooth black leather belt." He was also not very social I thought, "I'm Blaze, leader of this group. Miranda will get you whatever you it is you need." He paused, turning to her as he continued. "Meer, get her set up with a shower and bandaged, she reeks of blood." Blaze took his leave." Really not social but he was still hot so it's all good I guess. OH then we meet Rye, who is also good looking from what the description in the bookie describes, "He was handsome, in a mysterious way. His slender frame was muscular and his shirt and jeans where slightly loose but snug enough to show off his well-conditioned physique." I'm telling you there was something brewing between Rye and April, he's very into her and protective, "No! I won't let you die. Here, you have lost too much blood and you need to drink. Go ahead, drink April. Now!" Of course the book ended before we find out if they you know get together or anything that upset me greatly, it really did, but of course it is a first book in a series, but other then not knowing if anything goes on between April and Rye there really wasn't a cliffhanger.
