BLOG TOUR REVIEW: Daughters of the Sea Trilogy by Kristen Day

I really can't say how much I enjoyed this book. I loved Anastasia and Finn. I loved their first encounter and he thoughts on him, "Throughout the rest of the class I was hyper-aware of his every movement, every time he ran his fingers through his hair. Every time he tapped his fingers on the table. Every time he scratched his chin..." Finn he's just so sexy, and not only did he make Anastasia's heart go thump thump he made mine go thump thump as well, "By the way," he breath tickled the skin on my neck as he leaned down to whisper in my ear, "my name's Finn." The way Anastasia and Finn tease each other is seriously just the cutest!
"What are you doing here?" I said, a little to spastic.
"Baking cookies," he smirked at me,
"You shouldn't tease me like that, it's dangerous. I take baked goods very seriously." A slow smile formed on his lips.
"Dangerous happens to be my specialty."
The cliffhanger wasn't as bad as I thought it would be and I'm truly grateful that I had the next book in the series!

I loved how the playfulness between Anastasia and Finn continued in this book:
"Nothing could diminish your radiance, not a fever," he smiled slyly. "and especially not a fake fever."
"I don't know what you're talking about. I'm burning up." I put a hand to my forehead.
"You're definitely hot..." he reached for my hand and kissed it...
Even when they're not together they find a way to flirt with each other and be playful, thank goodness for cell phones and texting huh,
Either ur stalking me or u had a vision about me.
                                                      yes
yes ur stalking me or yes you had a vision about me?
                                                      Stalked u in a vision
This book started to get tough moments with tension between Anastasia and Finn's relationship, but Anastasia learns to find a backbone, and I was most proud of her for defending herself and standing up, "...A leader does not take advantage of her abilities. She leads from within; with dignity and grace." Thank the lord  I had the next book in the series, it would have KILLED ME to wait to find out what happens!

This book was difficult for me to love as it takes place where the second one leaves off, and it wasn't the writing or the storyline that made it hard for me to love it was something else, which I can't really say as it would be a spoiler and I know some people are stifflers about those. BUT I can say that we FINALLY get some chapters in Finn's point of view YAY!!! I was excited too!! What I love most about Finn is the fact he will defend his woman even when she's not around, "she possesses every quality required of a leader in our world and more. Qualities you have never and will never possess - purity, strength, grace, and most importantly humility." And the story wouldn't really be complete if there wasn't smartass comments from Finn because well that's what makes us love Finn are those smartass comments. "I can do cart wheels and sin a song if you'd like...a little more pomp and circumstance." I was really glad I read this trilogy as I enjoyed the books so much, but my favorite book from the trilogy would be the first! I can't wait to see what Kristen has next up her sleeve.
