Fake It 'Til You Break It by Meagan Brandy

Release Date: February 4

From USA Today & Wall Street Journal Bestselling author Meagan Brandy comes a new standalone, fake relationship romance with a twist!

Fake.
That’s what we are.

That’s what we agreed to be.

I thought it would be harder, convincing everyone our school’s star receiver was mine and mine alone, but we played our parts well.

So well, the lines between us began to blur until they disappeared completely.

The thing about pretending, though, someone’s always better at it, and by the time I realized my mistake, there was no going back.

I fell for our lie.
And then everything fell apart.

It turned out, he and I were never playing the same game.

He didn’t have to break me to win.

But he did it anyway.

REVIEW:
Nico is a protective, bossy sort, “and I said I wasn’t asking,” he snaps back, stern-faced. “ You’re not walking home alone in the effin’ dark.” Nico can sometimes be selfish and not want to share his woman, “They’re wrong. Once I have you all to myself, I’m pretty sure I won’t be up for sharing again.” I liked this book, I liked Nico.

Shadow Kiss by Alyssa Rose Ivy

Oh Rexton is quite the flirt, “you don’t have to pretend. You are allowed to want me.” I looked deep into her eyes. “I want you.” The woman appreciates her alcohol, “such a celebration that you’re taking my booze away?” I liked this quick little read, I liked Rexton.

His Secretary's Nine-Month Notice by Cathy Williams

Matt is a force of nature, ‘well, at least we’ve dropped the sir. That’s a start. Let me in. I need something strong to drink.’ The man doesn't waste any time, 'Matt smiled, a slow, curling smile that made her pulse race. ‘I’ll let them know that we’ll only need one room, shall I?’ I liked this book, I liked Matt.

Battle Hearts by Nina Levine

Sometimes a man just needs to let his woman do what she needs to do, “Winter, let me care for you as much as you’re caring for me. Please.” He stares at me quietly for a beat. Then, nodding..." Winter can be a pretty adaptable guy, “baby, I’m just happy you’re thinking about it. You go do what you have to do and I’ll be home by eight. If you’re good, we’ll go out. If you’re not, I’ll wait for you. Either way, I’m effing you tonight.” I liked this book, I loved seeing Winter and Birdie again.

REVIEW:
It's good know that Jack knows when he's acting like an ***, “Christ.” I hear him hiss the word and then the crunch of his boots on the gravel as he follows me inside. “Look, I’m sorry, it’s just been a rough couple of days.” The man could be quite playful, “dinner smells good. You smell better.” His hand squeezes my ***, and my eyes flash up to his. “I know a way we can work off those calories later,” he murmurs with a suggestive lift of his eyebrows. I liked this book, I liked Jack.

Excerpt
“Just face it, Knox. You’re head over heels in love with me.” Jack finally smiles, dimple winking and those eyes lighting up as he takes a step toward me, holding the scoop to his chest. “You can’t be near me because you want me, and you can’t talk to me because you get all flustered and tongue-tied.” “There is nothing about you I find attractive,” I lie. He places the scoop in my hand but doesn’t let it go when I try to take it. “It’d be much easier and a whole lot less distracting if I could say the same of you.” He lets go of the scoop and dips the tip of his hat in an aw-shucks kind of way. “But I’m not one to lie.” Our eyes hold across the short distance as his comment floats through the air and fades like the dust specks dancing in the sunlight. “That won’t work, you know?” I say. “What won’t?” “You trying to charm me every time you want something. I know your kind, Jack Sutton, and I’m not impressed by them.” “Is that so?” He shifts on his feet and adjusts his hat before re-crossing his arms over his chest. “And what kind is that?” “A man who uses his good looks and smooth words to get his way with people. A man who turns on the charm to disguise it.” His eyes darken and then narrow. “Just like you’re the woman who keeps living her privileged life . . . fiddling while Rome burns down around her?” he counters, making me want to scream that he knows nothing about me or how I live or what I’ve been through for the last year. A small part of me is shouting about how that was his point, but I tell the voice to shut up. “And if by good looks and smooth words, you’re implying I’m like Fletcher, I suggest you not infer that again.” That muscle in his jaw feathers in contempt. “I’m not the woman you think I am.” He twists his lips and stares at me in a way that feels like he is seeing right through me. It’s unnerving and unsettling, and I force myself not to look away because his silence is telling me that maybe he thinks I am. I’m not sure why that bugs me. Why I want him to see me as someone different. “I’m not even certain you know who that woman is either.”

The rich and popular Sharks rule at prestigious, ivy-covered Camden Prep. Once upon a time, I wanted to be part of their world--until they destroyed me.
The last thing I expected was an anonymous love letter from one of them.
Please. I hate every one of those rich jerks for what they did to me. The question is, which Shark is my secret admirer?
Knox, the scarred quarterback.
Dane, his twin brother.
Or Chance, the ex who dumped me. . .
Dear Ava,
Your eyes are the color of the Caribbean Sea.
Wait. That's stupid.
What I really mean is, you look at me and I feel something REAL.
It's been ten months since you were here, but I can't forget you.
I've missed seeing you walk down the hall.
I've missed you cheering at my football games.
I've missed the smell of your hair.
And then everything fell apart the night of the kegger.
Don't hate me because I'm a Shark.
I just want to make you mine.
Still.

REVIEW:
I loved Ava's little brother Tyler, the boy was entertaining, "Tyler looks up at me. “I-I could have said effing balls, so it’s not a bad word. Boys have balls. And a ***k—” Knox is a stubborn man where his woman is concerned, "he looks at me, a determined look on his face. “Not leaving you.” I liked this book, I loved Knox, he was sweet even though he tried hard not to show it.

Excerpt
“What do you want?” Knox says with as sneer as I ease in the football locker room. Cold eyes flick over my cheer skirt then move up and land on the hollow of my throat. It’s not cool enough at night for our sweater uniform so tonight my top is the red and white V-cut vest with CP embroidered on my chest. “Where’s Chance?” He whips off his sweat-covered jersey along with the pads underneath. “I don’t keep tabs on my best friend for you. Get out—before I scare you.” He’s scaring me already. But I can’t stop looking at him. His shoulders are broad and wide, his chest lightly dusted with sparse golden hair, tan from the sun, rippling with powerful muscles, leading down to a tapered and trim waist. He has a visible six-pack, and my gaze lingers briefly on a small tattoo on his hip, but I can’t tell what it is. He isn’t brawny or beefy-looking like one might expect from a guy blessed with his athletic prowess, but sculpted and molded and— Dropping my gaze, I stare at the floor. I shouldn’t be ogling him. Chance is my maybe-boyfriend. I hear male laughter from one of the rooms that branch off from the locker room, maybe the showers, and I deflate, guessing that’s where Chance is. Glancing up, I intend to ask him to tell Chance I came by to congratulate him on his two touchdowns, but my voice is frozen. Knox has unlaced his grass-stained pants and is shucking them off. His legs are heavily muscled and taut, unlike the leaner build of Chance. His underwear are white and tight, cupping his hard ass, the outline of his crotch— “Like what you see, charity case? You can look, but you can’t touch.” Anger soars, replacing my embarrassment. I know I'm just the scholarship girl at Camden, but why does he have to constantly remind me? “Don't worry about me touching anything. I don’t like ugly.” The words tumble out before I can stop them. I meant his superior attitude, not his face, but I see the moment when he freezes and takes it the wrong way. He touches his face, tracing his scar while his jaw pops. “Get the hell out. Only players allowed in here.” I pivot and go for the door, forcing myself not to run. “Asshole,” I mutter. His laughter follows me.

Callan Walsh kicks ass. In fact, he’s famous for it. As one of the brightest up-and-coming stars on the MMA scene, he’s an absolute beast in the cage…and out. Everything he’s trained for has brought him to this moment. Going toe-to-toe with reigning champ Xavier Gray will make or break his career.
Nothing can distract him from his lifelong goal. Nothing. Until he meets…his opponent’s little sister.
Josie Gray is hell on wheels, gorgeous AF, and has a mouth that doesn’t stop. The reluctant reality-television star is every man’s dream, but she’s about to become Callan’s nightmare. Tired of being in her brother’s fight-club entourage, Josie desperately desires her own life out of the limelight. Her loyalty to family keeps her tangled in faux fame, but what she feels for Callan is the realest thing she’s ever known.
Sparks fly when Callan comes to Josie’s rescue, leading to an all-consuming fire after a single night together. Forever is right at their fingertips, if only everything—and everyone—wasn't working to keep them apart. Will Callan and Josie fight through family ties to come out on top? Or are they both caged into lives they never wanted?
REVIEW:
Callan is experiencing all sorts of new things with his woman, “I’ve never seen anyone cook naked before,” Callan commented, leaning against the island counter..." Callan is a bossy one, “I wasn’t asking,” he told her. “You’re a lot safer with my driver. He can come back and get me later.” I liked this book, I liked Callan.
