About an Earl by Diana Lloyd

Oliver really is wrapped around his woman's finger, “Jewel, please.” Oliver squeezed his eyes shut and shook his head. “If you think to make me beg as atonement, I will do so without regret.” I liked this book, I liked Oliver.

Gigi is one for not caring what others think, “I wasn’t asking your permission.” My eyes widen, and I bite my lip to stop myself from laughing. This chick is all sass and attitude." Pike can only handle so much of his woman's sass, "...moaning right afterward as I take another sip. “Darlin’, make that noise again, and the ladies are going to see more than my chest,” he warns me, giving no effs about the other women around us." I lovwd seeing Pike, Gigi and the whole gang again.

The Beast of Beswick by Amalie Howard

Release Date: November 26

Beauty and the Beast meets Taming of the Shrew in this laugh-out-loud and heartfelt Regency romance.
Lord Nathaniel Harte, the disagreeable Duke of Beswick, spends his days smashing porcelain, antagonizing his servants, and snarling at anyone who gets too close. With a ruined face like his, it's hard to like much about the world. Especially smart-mouthed harpies—with lips better suited to kissing than speaking—who brave his castle with indecent proposals.
But Lady Astrid Everleigh will stop at nothing to see her younger sister safe from a notorious scoundrel, even if it means offering herself up on a silver platter to the forbidding Beast of Beswick himself. And by offer, she means what no highborn lady of sound and sensible mind would ever dream of—a tender of marriage with her as his bride.

REVIEW:
Thane quite enjoys his woman's sauciness, “I did, but you chose to go off on an unwelcome tangent of ducal innuendo.” God, but she was tart. He grinned, his earlier umbrage dissolving into wicked enjoyment." My, my Thane has quite the temper, “will someone please instruct me on what the eff is going on?" Astrid had never seen people scatter so quickly..." Astrid doesn't mind letting her man know some things, "Astrid arched a brow. “You took me against a door, Beswick. Surely you did not think I could control my passions while yours were on such territorial display.” I adored this book, I loved Thane.

Spencer doesn't hold his words back, "...there’s nothing wrong with wanting to eff you anywhere or at any time.” The man is really insatiable, “you sure about the no *** thing,” I whisper in her ear, “because it would be a shame to send me off to speak with my parents with blue balls.” I liked this book, I liked Spencer.

Excerpt

THE NOT SO MEET CUTE

When someone at the craps table beside me shouts, “Yes!” I flick my gaze in that direction. Standing at the very end is a tall woman in tight black pants with the shapeliest ass.
There’s an untidy pile of flecked chips in front of her. A modest stack of chips is also nestled on the edge of the table.
Apparently, she’s winning.
Curious, I watch as the woman makes the standard pass line bet. There are three shooters at the table, and they will each take a turn rolling the dice, although they will all be betting on each roll.
Not my game of choice.
No skill.
Just luck.
She’s first, so she grabs the dice, gives them a blow for luck, and rolls them both down the table in her come out roll.
I can’t see the dice, but when she jumps up and down, I can only guess she rolled a seven or an eleven. It’s still her turn, and when she does her little ritual with the dice again, I find it more than sexy. On this roll, if she rolls a two, three or twelve, she loses.
I feel like I want to cross my fingers for her.
Luck.
It’s all about luck.
She jumps up and down again, and I know she’s still in.
Roll after roll, she’s kicking ass.
Now, I’m holding my breath because she’s on the point roll. The dealer turns the puck to ‘ON’ and places it on the number that was just rolled. All she has to do is avoid a seven to keep going.
She’s still as the roll comes to a stop. I feel more emotion watching her than I did with everything I had on the line back at the blackjack table.
“Bad luck,” I hear someone groan and watch as the pile of chips she had pushed forward disappears.
Shit!
She sevened-out. She practically sags at the table as the loss registers. Just then, the concierge hands me a receipt that acknowledges the transfer of my winnings, and shaking my head for her, I start to stride toward the exit.
Shouldn’t play a game luck.
Somehow, she accidentally pushes the small remaining pile of chips under her arm onto the floor as I’m passing behind her. Without a second thought, I find myself diving down to help her recover her money.
When my eyes meet her sparkling blue ones, I can’t move, and all the breath is knocked squarely from my chest.
Elizabeth.
It’s been ten years since I broke her heart, and shit…
Little Liz Laurent is all grown up.

The Mighty Anchor by Carrie Aarons

REVIEW:
Vance may not do it often but the man can get embarrassed about some things, “I’m glad you like it.” Blimey, is that a blush? Is Vance Morley, the iron giant, happily embarrassed? It’s almost too adorable for words." Vance is a knowledgeable man, “when a woman says she’s fine, she’s about ten seconds away from murdering a bloke.” I chuckle." I liked this book, I liked Vance.

RELEASE REVIEW: Hey Neighbour by Hailey Queen

Title: Hey Neighbour
Author: Hailey Queen
Genre: Contemporary Romance/Romantic Comedy
Release Date: November 22, 2019

Blurb

Jessica Goodwin. My next-door neighbour. The woman who unearthed the pleasant memories of my first and only crush.
She is single. Seductive. Occasionally sassy.
And my sworn enemy.
Although things could have been different between us if …
… I hadn’t killed her cat on the very first day, she moved next door.
It was an accident.
Definitely an accident.
But due to my lack of emotions, it appeared otherwise.
Still, bad blood could have been averted. The unfortunate situation could be handled as adults.
But she made the ultimate mistake of calling me an animal and struck a nerve.
Now, I’m in a war against her. Which, according to my niece, Frankie, is a petty rivalry from my side only, and I should stop making a fool of myself.
If only I would be able to do just that.
I’m a typical sociopath who just has to put people down for his own fulfillment.
A ruthless, vengeful, most anti-social, outlaw, son of a bitch who has nothing but time on his hand and skills to make her life a living hell.
But to my surprise, there were some feelings left, or it’s she who has awoken them along with my cock.
Why else would I steal glances of her?
True, she is sexy as hell. Crafted by God himself on a Sunday with a mold that has since been broken.
But that can’t be the reason enough for me to pull down my sunglasses down the bridge of my nose, stare at her un-blinked, and while enjoying the view, whisper to myself ‘Hey Neighbour.’
Or could it?

‘Hey Neighbour’ is an enemies-to-friends-to-lovers romantic comedy featuring a quirky alpha living a recluse life and the girl next door who would make him want to live differently. It’s a full-length standalone romance with no cheating or cliffhanger and ends with a guaranteed HEA.

REVIEW:
Even in his thoughts, Odin is a crude man, "while ogling her, I slowly sip the wine, which is doing nothing for me. I prefer soft liquor at breakfast. For the night, I prefer hard, just like my * **k is right now." Wow Jessica knows how to spoil her man, “want to strip down to our underwear, and binge watch Netflix, eating pizza, while I run my foot up and down your leg.” I liked this book, okay, I kinda found Odin to be, quite frankly kinda dumb. It was hard for me to like him when he always acted well...stupid. I did however love Frankie and Jessica, Jessica's son.

Excerpt

“Nobody has come this close to beat me, Jessica. You should be proud of yourself.”
Sitting in my bra and panties across Odin, it doesn’t make me feel this way. I was proud at the start, though, when after binge-watching poker videos for five hours, I learned enough to win four hands straight, leaving him down to his underwear.
I was surprised at myself, thought of it as a beginner's luck, but the tide changed, and begun Odin’s streak of wins, which led me to believe that it was all a ruse.
A con I was roped in.
A bait I took.
“Full house.” I put my cards down at the table—my best hand for the evening—sure that despite playing against an experienced player, I’ll win and save myself from the humiliation.
Odin glance at his cards and crinkles form on his forehead.
A smile floats on my face; he doesn’t have the cards to beat me. At last, the mighty has fallen.
He sighs. “Well played, Jessica.”
“Yes!” I shout, raising my hands in victory as if the Cubs have won the Super Bowl.
“Straight flush!” he says, spreading his cards on the table.
My hands fall down like a lifeless bird from the sky, and my mouth opens wide with shock.
I lost. No matter which article of clothing I lose, I’ll still be leaving my dignity behind even if I win the next hand.
“Oh, Jessica. You are so gullible. It’s only you and me here. No matter if I get naked or you, it would still be my win.”
“So, would you consider accepting the defeat and strip naked?”
“Yeah, sure.” He scoffs. “Does a hunter let go of his prey if it says pretty please?”—He rubs his hand together—“Go on, then.”
I will have to remove one article of clothing, and I choose my panties.
My thinking is straight. I’ll quickly slide down my panties and close my legs, shutting the view, thereby giving myself a fighting chance to keep my bra on.
As I put my hand on the string of my panties, Odin waves his finger in a no. “Nuh-uh! Bra.”
“What? Why?!”
“Winner's choice. We agreed on it before we began playing.”
“But you haven’t exercised this right the whole night. Why suddenly now?”
He rubs his palm across his chest like a sleazeball. “Because I desperately want to see your boobs bare. I am fascinated by them—especially the mole on your heart.”
“Was ogling them under the constellations not enough for you?”
“Aha! So, you did see me glaring at them that night?”
“It was hard not to when you were acting like a pervert.”
“Now, I don’t have to.” He takes his face in his hands and props his elbows on the table as if he is waiting for the trailer launch of the next Avenger movie.
“Is this really what you want?” Crossing my fingers, I try my luck one more time.
A perverted smile forms on his face. “Oh, absolutely. I may keep your leopard bra as a souvenir too. You look good in leopard, by the way…” He roars like a tiger. “…very fierce. But I am sure you’ll look much better without it.”
“Pervert!” I mumble, reaching my hand behind my back, and close my eyes. I can’t look at him, seeing me like a piece of meat. Uncomfortably, I unhook my bra, remove my arms through the straps, and drop it down to my lap. “Are you happy now? Take a good look at them.” Because you are never going to see them again. “You tricked me into doing this. I’ll never forget this, Odin.”
No lewd remarks. Not a word in admiration. Has his heart stopped? They are a set of boobs—not a Pandora box.
I open my eyes, hoping, he must be in a heavenly state, drooling all over the table, but I find him missing. The chair across me is empty.
He has expressly stated his infatuation with my boobs by his stares, and today, by his words. Must be plotting for long to see them bare. And now, that his desire has come true, he is nowhere to be found.
A white towel descends from above, against the front of my body. I turn my head slightly and see Odin standing behind me, wrapping me up.
But why?
I don’t understand this person.
He gently grazes my face with his fingers as if he is appreciative of me being here. Then, he leans down and kisses me on the top of my head. “Not like this.”
