BLOG TOUR REVIEW/EXCERPT: The Chronicles of Blood and Stone by Laura Hunter

Seven pages in, I still hated Lakyn, BUT I'm starting to understand him just a little:
"Your daughter's blood showed trace amounts of demon blood."
"Demon blood? But I'm not a demon, I'm Nephilim."
"You are more connected to the darkness than you realize"
The story captivates you from page one as you dive in you're wondering if you'll get answers from the cliffhanger from the previous book, "The Chronicles of Fire and Ice."  This book is about so many characters and where they are but I'm intrigued more on Jacob and his one man mission to get Kat's soul back. He loves her so much he's doing anything to get her back. I thought Lakyn would grow on me, as sometimes characters do in the second books, but nope still hate his guts. I mean who says something this mean and vulgar? "I mean it Dave. I'm going to murder Jacob and then I'm going to murder Scarlett and make my brother watch. And then I'm going to kill my brother, nice and slow." UGH he frustrates me, I think I enjoyed this book more then the first book as there is more adventure and it seems there's more meaning in the book.
EXCERPT:
"Did you have a nice shower?”
“Yes, beautiful. I left some shower gel for you.” He walked towards her and sat on the bed. “Want to test my man scent now?” he asked with a smirk. Scarlett crawled towards him like a cat and placed her lips on his bare shoulder, trailing kisses over his shoulder blade. A low moan escaped his lips. “So?”
“That’s better. Rain and… coconut?” she raised an eyebrow at him.
“That’s all they have here. If you prefer vanilla, I’m going to have to buy some.”
“No, I like coconut,” She said and continued to kiss him. This time making her way to his lips where the kisses grew more hungry and needy. They lay back on the bed. She reached to remove his towel, but a knock at the door stopped her. They both sat up and looked at it.
“Is that room service?” he asked.
“I didn’t order any.” They both looked at each other. Scarlett raced to get the door while Dyston adjusted his towel. When she opened the door, Scarlett never expected to see the person who stood on the other side in a million years.
