Vengeance by Tara Brown

Lots to take in, in this book the first is how Maddox pulls at my heart strings. "He laughed and took long strides toward me. I stepped back into a tree. His face was above mine menacingly. "I told you we need to stop meeting." His eyes were desperate. I ignored them. Instead I lifted my lips to meet his as I often did." First thought about this scene was YAY there's only one love interest wholly shit was I wrong! Poor Millia when she gets rejected and finds someone else Maddox gets all ornery about it and I just couldn't help but think serves you right you ass! "I can't keep you safe. It's driving me insane. You're driving me insane. You wear that out to an Inn no less. You drink with a bunch of men you don't know and get me into a fight with some guy you're using to make me jealous. You're putting yourself at risk, for what? To punish me?" Why does Maddox always say things that break my heart I mean the girl is trying to move on, and him hanging back making her feel things is just plain stupid! I really did like Millia though, she's strong, independent, blunt, and just plain kickass! "What are you getting out of it, out of this? I don't suffer from low self-esteem and I know I'm a Princess but I'm no prize. I cuss, fight, have a dragon for a pet and a bad habit of kissing any boy I happen upon. Some might not like that in a Betrothed." I just want Millia to find happiness I'm not sure if she'll be able to with all the directions she's be pulled into. Another God for saken cliffhanger, I think this one is the worst that Tara has written (NO it's not a bad thing I just don't like being left hanging.)
