The Sheriff's Secret by Susan Meier

Good lord, Dell just oozes sex appeal I was with Marney all the way on those naughty thoughts, "right." More hormones awoke at the deep, masculine sound of his voice. Holding her head high and pretending she wasn't fighting the urge to rip off his shirt, she marched to the control box for the alarm then stepped out of the way." I mean Dell the boy has some issues like he can be an a**, "his voice took on a hard tone. "I'll do one more check outside then I'll swing back in to make sure you're okay. But I'd appreciate it if you wouldn't make any more 9-1-1 calls to meet your neighbors." But then he turns into this flirty guy whose bones you want to jump, "he walked toward her front door. "I'll be back anyway." He turned and grinned at her. "For one more look." I mean he's good looking, "he answered the door with wet hair, wearing only blue jeans that hung low on his hips, as if he'd jumped into them after a shower." Sometimes the boy's head isn't in the right mindset where Marney is concerned, "he frowned. "I thought you'd considered what I'd said last night and made up your mind to sleep with me." He pointed at the soup pot. "I assumed you'd used the soup as an icebreaker."
