Rafe's Redemption by Jennifer Jakes
Rafe he's rough around the edges, "Rafe slammed his cup onto the stove. "Miss Monroe, I never intended to keep you." His gruff voice suggested she'd offended him. "Believe me, a woman is the last thing I want." Sometimes you can't help where certain body parts fall when you're asleep, "she sighed again, her arm dropping forward to rest on his thigh. Christ. Two inches to the left and she'd be cupping his co**. He grabbed her hand and pulled it around his waist to keep her from falling off Moses." Rafe I believe has met his match in Maggie, "damn it all," he whispered. Couldn't she just follow orders? "Stubborn, frustrating, female." But Rafe he's caring, "oh, God," he whispered, wrestling the blanket tangled around their bodies. "Are you all right, Maggie?" He rolled off her. "Are you hurt." His big hands roamed her body. "Tell me where I've hurt you." I think the man has been alone so long he's not sure what to do with another person, "no, there's not." He took his food over to the hearth. "I can't stand to be crowded, woman." His voice held a desperate edge. "I like being alone." Rafe he has no issues with nudity, "so were you awhile ago. I didn't complain." And he wasn't complaining now. The firelight turned her shirt transparent. "You don't want me to get my stitches all wet, do you?" And he's a possessive man, "because you're mine, damn it." The words exploded from him." Maggie she'll make a good mother, and Rafe while recovering that boy is like a naughty child, "I can't stay in bed forever, Maggie. Unless you want to get naked and join me." He grabbed her and waggled his eyebrows. "Then I wouldn't complain one bit." I really liked this story and I'm hoping to read more by this author.
