The Wager by Rachel Van Dyken

It was a toss up on who made the story more entertaining, Jake or his Granny, "sweetheart, I'm the one wearing hearing aids, not you. I called you a wh***. Would you like me to spell it for you, too?" She nudged Jake. "What did you do? Find her at a high school career fair?" And then ins a horrifyingly loud voice she began spelling. "W-H-O-R-E." To say that Granny is teaching Jakey-boy a lesson is an understatement but when she questions his orgasm making skills he gets a little perturbed, "what?" Jake snapped. "What the hell are you talking about? I can pleasure anyone, anywhere! I'm damned good at giving orgasms!" Char gives as good as she gets NEVER underestimate the power of a pi**ed off woman, "wouldn't want you to have to program me into your cell and risk taking up too much space from your booty calls." In the book I realized I started to like Jake when I realized 'why yes he is actually human and does have feelings,' even though those feelings were of possession but they still were feelings none the less, "it wasn't like he wanted her dating anyone else. No, he'd kill any other guy that touched her." Yeah, possession Jake is really feeling it, "all Jake saw was red. Jace holding her. His girl, his woman, his future - in Jace's grimy politician hands! With a war cry that would have done any fan of Braveheart proud - Jake charged toward Jace and slammed him into the countertop." Maybe he has some anger issues as well....  He even feels lust (we actually really weren't questioning that feeling) but this time it's toward the right person, "sorry that my brain isn't exactly on the right track right now. We're lucky I can even walk and talk at the same time without throwing you against the stairs and lifting your skirt." This book was really more enjoyable then Kacey and Travis's and I have a funny feeling we'll see Granny again in Jace and Beth's book (I at least hope there's one)
