Woo-baby I thought Dayton was a shy girl who kept to herself but when she got pissed, the girl got pissed, "You want me to talk to you? Me talk to you? Ha! That's funny. I won't talk, Aunt Kyra. I won't. Not until I find out the truth. What's bigger than me? What's happening to me? Aunt Kyra is seriously a bitch that needs to like DIE! Anyway Marcas first impressions of that ass, well I thought he was an ass, "But au contraire, my sweet, I know you more than you or I would like. Go home. Talk to your aunt. But don't trust any of them. I am not your enemy, but neither am I your friend..." Charming isn't he? You know for someone who says he doesn't give a shit Marcas seems to give a shit, "I'm leaving brother. And the girl leaves with me," Marcas growled as I raised a brow in his general direction. I had agreed to go with him, but he didn't have to sound all "me man, this be my woman" about it. Mhmm honey I'd go anywhere with him as well. Monroe Dayton's BFF God bless that girl I love her to pieces, "What the F*** is a gargoyle?" she asked her tone shocked. "Oh, this is wonderful. Dayton is bonded to a Demon hunted by psychos and I've managed to call in a gargoyle." I really can't wait to see what happens in book 2 the cliffhanger wasn't very nice Ms. Ryals!
In this book we see Dayton grow, she's more sure of herself and knows what she wants, and that temper of hers is nothing to be messed with, "Screw your pet peeves! I could care less what you don't like Let's talk about what I don't like, shall we. I don't like any of this Craig not a damn bit of it! This whole thing is wrong. I left my friends battling demons sent to kill me, only to find a ring that will do nothing more than unbind the two of us and possibly kill me..." And never consider Dayton weak people, that girl will be on you like a fat kid on candy, "I may need instruction. I may even need rescuing here and there. But I am not weak..." Marcas we see a different side of him as well, and who would have thought we would see him, I don't know territorial of Dayton, "I won't tell you again," Marcas growled. "You are in my domain. Don't make me remind you why I am who I am." And Fore FREAK'S SAKE THAT ENDING!! COME ON!!
I didn't like the beginning (for selfish reasons, not because of the story or writing) When people insult her man Dayton is all up in that, I think she is just as territorial as he is maybe even worse...not sure yet, "Condemn me all you want silently, Amber, but don't say it out loud. Out of everyone involved, Marcas has always been the most honest. He has the most to lose, and he was willing to sacrifice everything for me." Oh Marcas I really have fallen in love with you:
"I plan to start a war in Hell," he said.
"That's the sexiest thing I think I've ever heard you say," I whispered.
I really can't stop saying how much hunky, Marcas has changed, "you fall, I fall." By the way I was VERY pleased with the ending!
